About Caister
Caister-on-Sea Holiday Park is a Haven park on the Norfolk coast, a few miles north of Great Yarmouth. Haven says there has been a holiday camp here since 1906, which makes it one of the oldest names in British caravan holidays. The park is mainly flat, and the walk from the furthest point to the main facilities takes about ten minutes.
Haven says the park has direct access to miles of sandy beach: a boardwalk leads from the park, then a few steps take you down onto the sand. Great Yarmouth railway station is about four miles away, with direct trains to Norwich, and the town's seafront is a short drive or bus ride south.
What's on the park
- Pools: a heated indoor pool with a multi-lane water slide and a gently sloping entry.
- Entertainment: two venues with the Seaside Squad, the resident entertainment cast and visiting acts, plus the Tiger Club Show and an amusements arcade.
- Things to do: the Adventure Village, with aerial adventure courses, The Jump, Junior Segways, a NERF training camp, tank off-roaders, kart hire, archery and crazy golf.
- Food and shopping: Mash and Barrel, Burger King, Cook's Fish & Chips, Papa John's (which can deliver to your caravan through the My Haven app), Bertie's Ice Cream, the Box Bar and a supermarket.
Around Caister and Great Yarmouth
Great Yarmouth's Golden Mile has the piers, arcades and Pleasure Beach, with the Time and Tide Museum a reminder of the town's herring-fishing past. The Norfolk Broads start just inland, and a day hiring a boat from somewhere like Potter Heigham or Wroxham makes a change from the seaside. Norwich, with its cathedral, castle and lanes, is easy to reach by train from Great Yarmouth. Closer to home, the beach north towards Winterton-on-Sea is a good stretch for long walks.
Swapping and letting at Caister
If you own a caravan here, you already have what makes a swap work: a holiday home on a park other owners want to visit. List it for free and you can swap weeks with owners elsewhere in the UK, Ireland and Europe, and pay nothing for the holiday. If a swap doesn't line up, you can offer a private let and keep 100% of the rent. Just check your licence agreement and the park's current rules on subletting first.
If you're looking for a stay, message the owner of any home above. You're dealing with a fellow owner who looks after their caravan, not a stranger, and there's no booking fee.
The season usually runs from around March to the end of October — check current dates with the owner or the park.

Questions about Caister
Can I swap my caravan at Caister for a holiday somewhere else?
Yes. List your Caister caravan or lodge for free, then message other owners across the UK, Ireland and Europe to arrange a swap. You agree the dates and details directly with each other.
Can I find a private let at Caister from an owner?
Some owners at Caister offer private lets as well as swaps. Message the owner directly to ask about dates and price. We don't take any commission.
Does Caister Holiday Park have direct beach access?
Yes. Haven says the park has direct access to miles of sandy beach, reached along a boardwalk and then a few steps down onto the sand. It's one of the park's biggest draws, and you can walk along the shore in either direction.
Are dogs allowed at Caister Holiday Park?
Haven says dogs are more than welcome at Caister-on-Sea, and there's even a Bark Yard obstacle course on park. The long beach is handy for walks, though some stretches of the Norfolk coast have seasonal dog restrictions, so check signs. Owners set their own rules for their own caravan, so confirm before you book a swap or let.
Can I let my Caister caravan out privately?
Many owners do, but every park has its own rules on subletting. Check your licence agreement and the park's current rules before you advertise a private let.
