About Shurland Dale

Shurland Dale is a holiday park on Warden Road, between the village of Eastchurch and Warden Bay on the Isle of Sheppey in north Kent. It has a countryside setting on the quieter eastern side of the island, with the Thames Estuary just to the north. The park was run by Parkdean Resorts until 2018, when it was sold to the independent operator Cosgrove Leisure Parks.

There's no beach on the park itself, but the coast is close. Leysdown-on-Sea, with its long beach and seaside amusements, is a short drive east, and Warden Bay is nearer still. Sheppey is reached over the Sheppey Crossing from the A249, which puts the park within easy reach of the M2 and the Medway towns.

Around Eastchurch and the Isle of Sheppey

Leysdown-on-Sea has the island's busiest beach and arcades, and the Swale National Nature Reserve at Shellness, at the island's eastern tip, is good for birdwatching and quiet walks. Elmley National Nature Reserve, on the marshes in the south of the island, is known for its wading birds and big skies. Eastchurch has a strong aviation history linked to the early flying pioneers at nearby Muswell Manor, and Minster Abbey and the seafront at Sheerness are a short drive west.

Swapping and letting at Shurland Dale

If you own a caravan here, you already have what makes a swap work: a holiday home on a park other owners want to visit. List it for free and you can swap weeks with owners elsewhere in the UK, Ireland and Europe, and pay nothing for the holiday. If a swap doesn't line up, you can offer a private let and keep 100% of the rent. Just check your licence agreement and the park's current rules on subletting first.

If you're looking for a stay, message the owner of any home above. You're dealing with a fellow owner who looks after their caravan, not a stranger, and there's no booking fee.

The season usually runs from around March to the end of October — check current dates with the owner or the park.

Questions about Shurland Dale

Can I swap my caravan at Shurland Dale for a holiday somewhere else?

Yes. List your Shurland Dale caravan or lodge for free, then message other owners across the UK, Ireland and Europe to arrange a swap. You agree the dates and details directly with each other.

Can I find a private let at Shurland Dale from an owner?

Some owners at Shurland Dale offer private lets as well as swaps. Message the owner directly to ask about dates and price. We don't take any commission.

Is Shurland Dale near the beach?

There's no beach on the park itself, but you're never far from the sea on Sheppey. Warden Bay and Leysdown-on-Sea are a short drive away, and the nature reserve at Shellness has a long shell beach.

Are dogs allowed at Shurland Dale?

Several park listings describe Shurland Dale as dog friendly, but we couldn't confirm the current policy with the park itself. The island's beaches and marshes make good dog walks, and each owner sets their own rules for their own caravan, so ask before you book.

Can I let my Shurland Dale caravan out privately?

Many owners do, but every park has its own rules on subletting. Check your licence agreement and the park's current rules before you advertise a private let.
