About Black Beck
Black Beck is a Partington's holiday park near the village of Bouth in the South Lake District, just south of Grizedale Forest. It sits in a shallow wooded valley with views of open fields, tree-covered fells and dry stone walls, surrounded by working farms. Partington's doesn't list a pool or clubhouse bar here, so it suits people who want peace and the fells close by.
From the M6 it's a simple run along the A590 towards Newby Bridge, turning off for Bouth, and the park is half a mile up the lane. Windermere, Coniston, Ulverston and the Cartmel Valley are all within a short drive. Partington's says Barrow-in-Furness station is about half an hour away by car.
What's on the park
- Relaxing: a sauna and jacuzzi you can book for private use at reception, plus a mini-gym.
- Things to do: a children's play park with separate areas for toddlers and older children, a duck pond with a feeding area, and woodland walks and cycling from the park.
- Food and shopping: a Country Store with local produce, wine and everyday essentials, with local ales and gins sold at reception.
- For owners: Partington's runs an attractions scheme for owners and holidaymakers with discounts at places such as Coniston Launch, Go Ape Grizedale and The World of Beatrix Potter.
Around Windermere, Grizedale and Ulverston
Grizedale Forest is just to the north, with its walking and cycling trails and the Go Ape treetop course. The southern tip of Windermere is a short drive away at Newby Bridge, and Coniston Water has lake cruises on the Coniston Launch. The market town of Ulverston and the village of Cartmel, with its priory, are both close enough for an afternoon out.
Swapping and letting at Black Beck
If you own a caravan here, you already have what makes a swap work: a holiday home on a park other owners want to visit. List it for free and you can swap weeks with owners elsewhere in the UK, Ireland and Europe, and pay nothing for the holiday. If a swap doesn't line up, you can offer a private let and keep 100% of the rent. Just check your licence agreement and the park's current rules on subletting first.
If you're looking for a stay, message the owner of any home above. You're dealing with a fellow owner who looks after their caravan, not a stranger, and there's no booking fee.
Partington's says owners can typically use their holiday homes for around 10 months of the year — check exact opening dates with the owner or the park.

Can I find a private let at Black Beck from an owner?
Some owners at Black Beck offer private lets as well as swaps. Message the owner directly to ask about dates and price. We don't take any commission.
Is Black Beck near the lakes?
Yes. Black Beck is in the South Lake District near Bouth, and Partington's says Windermere, Coniston and Grizedale Forest are all a short drive away. It's an inland woodland park rather than a lakeside one, so you'll want a car for days out.

Can I let my Black Beck caravan out privately?
Many owners do, but every park has its own rules on subletting. Check your licence agreement and the park's current rules before you advertise a private let.
