About Hunters Quay
Hunters Quay Holiday Village sits on the Cowal peninsula in Argyll, just outside Dunoon. Argyll Holidays describes the park as set above the shoreline of the Holy Loch, with loch and mountain views from many of the caravans and lodges. Woodland trails, viewpoints and lochside walks start close by.
This is a loch-side park rather than a beach park, so there's no sandy beach on site. Hunters Quay is also where the Western Ferries car ferry from Gourock comes in, which makes the crossing from Glasgow and the Clyde coast quick. From here it's easy to explore Dunoon and the wider west coast.
What's on the park
- Pools: an indoor swimming pool, alongside an on-site gym.
- Entertainment: shows seven days a week in the Hunters Arena, from family gameshows and talent nights to visiting acts, plus the Loch & Play arcade and sports bar.
- Things to do: archery, axe throwing, laser tag, a climbing wall, crazy golf, Captain Jack's Adventure Play, and crafts such as pottery and sand art.
- Food and shopping: the Loch & Quay bar and restaurant for breakfast, lunch and dinner, Box Fish for fish and chips, Argyll Pizza, and an on-site shop.
Around Dunoon and the Cowal peninsula
Dunoon's seafront, pier and Castle House Museum are only a few minutes away. A short drive north, Benmore Botanic Garden and the wooded gorge of Puck's Glen sit at the edge of Argyll Forest Park, and Loch Eck is just beyond. The ferry from Hunters Quay to Gourock puts Glasgow, Greenock and the Inverclyde coast within easy reach for a day out.
Swapping and letting at Hunters Quay
If you own a caravan here, you already have what makes a swap work: a holiday home on a park other owners want to visit. List it for free and you can swap weeks with owners elsewhere in the UK, Ireland and Europe, and pay nothing for the holiday. If a swap doesn't line up, you can offer a private let and keep 100% of the rent. Just check your licence agreement and the park's current rules on subletting first.
If you're looking for a stay, message the owner of any home above. You're dealing with a fellow owner who looks after their caravan, not a stranger, and there's no booking fee.
Argyll Holidays doesn't publish season dates for Hunters Quay; parks like this usually open from around March to the end of October, so check current dates with the owner or the park.
