About Red Lion
Red Lion is an independent holiday park on Dundee Road at the western edge of Arbroath, on the Angus coast. It's run by Perthshire Caravans, who also own Loch Earn Leisure Park, and now trades as Red Lion Leisure Park.
The park sits directly opposite West Sands beach, so the sea is only a short stroll from your caravan. You can walk along the shore into Arbroath for the harbour and the town centre. The park itself says it's well placed for exploring the east coast of Scotland.
What's on the park
- Entertainment: the Seafront Leisure Centre, with a bar and family room hosting live music, a gaming arcade and an American pool hall. The park says a redevelopment of the leisure centre has been approved and is due to start in 2027.
- Things to do: an indoor soft play area and an outdoor play area. There's no swimming pool at present.
- Food and shopping: a bar and restaurant looking out to sea, with takeaway options, and an on-site shop. There's also a launderette.
Around Arbroath and the Angus coast
Arbroath Abbey, where the Declaration of Arbroath was signed in 1320, is in the town, along with the Signal Tower Museum and its Bell Rock Lighthouse story. Down at the harbour you can try Arbroath Smokies, and the cliff walk heading north from the town is a favourite with walkers. Carnoustie's golf links are a short drive away, St Andrews is further down the coast, and the Angus glens are within reach for hillwalking.
