About Far Grange

Far Grange Park and Golf Club sits on Hornsea Road at Skipsea, on the Holderness coast of East Yorkshire. It's run by Haven as an owners-only park, so there are no hired holiday caravans and the people around you are fellow owners and their guests. The land is flat, which Haven says makes it easy to get about on foot.

Haven lists a clifftop and beach walk among the things to enjoy here, but doesn't say how far the beach is, so ask the owner about the best route down to the sand. Bridlington, with its beaches and harbour, is the nearest big seaside town to the north, and Hornsea lies a few miles to the south.

What's on the park

  • Golf: an 18-hole, 6,000-yard par 70 course with sea views, a clubhouse, golf professionals, a shop, a 9-hole practice area and a driving range.
  • Pools and spa: an indoor pool with a shallow area for children, and the Lakes Spa with an outdoor spa bath.
  • Entertainment: two venues, one for families and one for over-18s, which Haven says are busiest at weekends.
  • Things to do: two coarse fishing lakes with 45 swims, two gyms, a tennis court, an all-weather multi-sports court and a snooker room with three full-size tables.
  • Food and drink: the Lakes Lounge, The Sandpiper bar and restaurant, Cook's Fish & Chips, and The Clubhouse at the golf course.

Around Skipsea, Bridlington and Hornsea

Bridlington's beaches and harbour are a short drive north, and Flamingo Land and Scarborough's seafront are within reach for a longer day out. Beverley, with its Minster, is inland to the south-west. Spurn Head National Nature Reserve, at the tip of the Holderness coast, is good for birdwatching, and Playdale Farm Park suits younger children. Haven says there are at least six other golf courses within ten miles if you want a change from the home course.

Swapping and letting at Far Grange

If you own a caravan here, you already have what makes a swap work: a holiday home on a park other owners want to visit. List it for free and you can swap weeks with owners elsewhere in the UK, Ireland and Europe, and pay nothing for the holiday. If a swap doesn't line up, you can offer a private let and keep 100% of the rent. Just check your licence agreement and the park's current rules on subletting first.

If you're looking for a stay, message the owner of any home above. You're dealing with a fellow owner who looks after their caravan, not a stranger, and there's no booking fee.

Haven says Far Grange is open 11 months of the year, including all 52 weekends — ask the owner which month the park closes.

Questions about Far Grange

Can I swap my caravan at Far Grange for a holiday somewhere else?

Yes. List your Far Grange caravan or lodge for free, then message other owners across the UK, Ireland and Europe to arrange a swap. You agree the dates and details directly with each other.

Can I find a private let at Far Grange from an owner?

Some owners at Far Grange offer private lets as well as swaps. Message the owner directly to ask about dates and price. We don't take any commission.

Is Far Grange near the beach?

Far Grange is on the coast at Skipsea, and Haven mentions a clifftop and beach walk from the area. Haven doesn't give a distance or describe the route, so check with the owner how they get down to the sand. Bridlington's sandy beaches are a short drive away if you'd rather head into town.

Are dogs allowed at Far Grange?

Haven mentions dog-friendly trails in the country park and an area for dogs in The Sandpiper bar and restaurant, so dogs are clearly part of park life. Haven doesn't publish a full dog policy on its park page. Owners set their own rules for their own caravan or lodge, so ask before you bring a dog.

Can I let my Far Grange caravan out privately?

Many owners do, but every park has its own rules on subletting. Check your licence agreement and the park's current rules before you advertise a private let.

Holiday Home Swapping is an independent community of holiday home owners. We're not connected to Far Grange or Haven. Park details are taken from the operator's published information and may change, so check with the park for the latest.
