About Skipsea Sands
Skipsea Sands is a Parkdean Resorts holiday park on the East Yorkshire coast, close to the village of Skipsea and roughly midway between Bridlington and Hornsea. Parkdean describes it as a scenic coastal park with cliff-edge views and plenty of room to relax. There's a fishing lake on the park, and the countryside of Holderness stretches inland.
Parkdean says there's no direct beach access from the park, but Skipsea beach is about an eight-minute drive, with the quiet sands at Fraisthorpe also close by. Bridlington is around 20 minutes away by car. Parkdean says a multi-million-pound upgrade is under way, with new bars, food outlets and activities due to open in spring 2027.
What's on the park
- Pools: an indoor heated pool with water jets, plus a sauna and steam room.
- Entertainment: live shows in the Showbar every evening, children's discos and bingo, and an amusement arcade.
- Things to do: adventure golf, a fishing lake, a gym, a sports hall and multi-sports court, kids' clubs and indoor and outdoor play areas. Parkdean lists clip and climb, escape rooms and off-road buggies among the additions planned for 2027.
- Food and shopping: The Boathouse Bar & Restaurant, a Costa Coffee, a beer garden and a Nisa convenience store with a launderette.
- For owners: Parkdean has an owners' community with owner events and benefits, and a scheme for owners to let their holiday home.
Around Skipsea, Bridlington and Hornsea
Bridlington has a busy harbour, a long promenade, Bridlington Spa and Sewerby Hall and Gardens on the cliffs just north of town. Further up the coast, the chalk cliffs and coves of Flamborough Head, including North Landing, are worth the drive. To the south, Hornsea has a quieter beach and Hornsea Mere, Yorkshire's largest natural lake, and the market town of Beverley with its Minster is around 40 minutes inland.
Swapping and letting at Skipsea Sands
If you own a caravan here, you already have what makes a swap work: a holiday home on a park other owners want to visit. List it for free and you can swap weeks with owners elsewhere in the UK, Ireland and Europe, and pay nothing for the holiday. If a swap doesn't line up, you can offer a private let and keep 100% of the rent. Just check your licence agreement and the park's current rules on subletting first.
If you're looking for a stay, message the owner of any home above. You're dealing with a fellow owner who looks after their caravan, not a stranger, and there's no booking fee.
The season usually runs from around March to the end of October — Parkdean doesn't publish dates for Skipsea Sands, so check current dates with the owner or the park.
