About Sand le Mere

Sand le Mere is a holiday village at Tunstall on the Holderness coast of East Yorkshire, run by Park Holidays UK. It sits in open countryside between the villages and the sea, a few miles up the coast from Withernsea. The park has static caravans, lodges and touring pitches, with a freshwater fishing lake and a nature trail in the grounds.

Park Holidays says the park is just a few steps from Tunstall beach, a long stretch of sand and shingle where you can fish straight from the shore. Withernsea is the nearest town for shops and seafront, and Hull is within reach for a bigger day out.

What's on the park

  • Pools: a heated indoor pool with a splash zone, inflatable aqua run and water slide, plus a sauna and steam room in the refurbished leisure complex.
  • Entertainment: a clubhouse and entertainment venue with shows from 6pm seven days a week, including cabaret, comedians, karaoke and bingo, and free daytime kids' clubs from 10am.
  • Things to do: an activity centre (March to October) with soft play, a climbing wall, Dino Karts, Segway rides and crazy golf, plus an arcade, sensory room, sports court and the fishing lake.
  • Food and shopping: a restaurant and bar open all year, a clubhouse serving pizzas, a takeaway, food trucks in the warmer months, an on-site shop and a launderette.

Around Withernsea and Holderness

Withernsea has a promenade, sandy beach and an unusual lighthouse standing well back from the sea in the town. Further south, Spurn Point is a narrow spit with walks and bird-watching at the mouth of the Humber. Burton Constable Hall is about eight miles away, and Hull offers The Deep aquarium and its Old Town museums.

Swapping and letting at Sand le Mere

If you own a caravan here, you already have what makes a swap work: a holiday home on a park other owners want to visit. List it for free and you can swap weeks with owners elsewhere in the UK, Ireland and Europe, and pay nothing for the holiday. If a swap doesn't line up, you can offer a private let and keep 100% of the rent. Just check your licence agreement and the park's current rules on subletting first.

If you're looking for a stay, message the owner of any home above. You're dealing with a fellow owner who looks after their caravan, not a stranger, and there's no booking fee.

Park Holidays says the leisure facilities and restaurant are open all year, with the activity centre running March to October — check when caravans can be used with the owner or the park.
